The run of good luck for the domestic economy continues as the third quarter turned out results which have exceeded market expectations.
The Central Statistical Office (GUS) informed that in Q3 the domestic economy grew at 1.7 percent, as compared to the market prognosis of 1.3-1.5 percent.
“The results from the third quarter show that the Polish triumph has solid foundations, and was not short term. We can say today that in Poland, in fact, the crisis never came, so it is difficult to speak of its end,” declared Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
Economists also remain optimistic about the future. “In Q4 the growth will reach 2.4 percent and in 2010 it will speed up to 2.6 percent,” said an economist with Citi Handlowy, Piotr Kalisz.
The Economy Ministry is expecting to see moderate growth in 2009 of 1.5 percent and in 2.5 percent in 2010.
